I meet so many lurkers it is almost scarey, rather wonderful to me.
Your dryland corn sounds like ours. We had almost an inch yesterday but we are in dent. Never thought Ohio would be competing with Kansas for dryland honors!
We drove all over your state, I think it was 2001? One of driest events I ever witnessed. Kansas was toast and deserved all the Federal dollars but never complained once when they didn't. I remember being so hot in Marysville Kansas I thought I couldn't breathe.
We also share the wheat disaster this year. We didn't have any. We mudded it in and what came up we killed and planted to other crops. Of course we raise the soft wheats over here. They bid a good price, we just couldn't get the job done!
