Central IL | Agree with Samsdad that lower pops will stand better. Depends some on variety, I've noticed more upright varieties can take higher pops better than bushy types. Bushy types in high pops produce thin weak branches that fall into a tangled mess rather easily.
If you are planting mostly bush varieties now you may try throwing an upright number or 2 into the mix next time.
Not sure what pops you are planting, but 15 inches of rain in that short a time is going to be a strain no matter what. | |
