| That's an even more complex question, and I'm not sure I have a simple answer.
Here's what I know.
Rain at the right time, even nearing maturity, will "sometimes" create more growth/nodes and therefore more places for blooms/pods.
I looked at some mid group III beans planted the first week of May, this morning. There were the beginnings of new pods at the tops of those plants.
Safe bet?? It happens X number of days past the summer solstice, depending on maturity. Generally the later the maturity, the longer the time until they quit blooming. They all start blooming about the same time.
