Decaturville TN | I know exactly what you mean. I have had exactly the same kind of year you described. I gave up on the corn a while back and was thinking beans might be pretty good in mid-July but no rain since July 25 and this 105-108 temp every day is torching the beans. On the drier land I have waist hi beans with several pods (beans are starting to touch each other in the pods) but just about all the leaves have fallen off. Will rain even help these beans? I contracted a few $9.00 beans too but was afraid to do very many and I'm glad now I didn't. I too am glad my wife teaches school but I will lose 2 or 3 times what she makes this year. I do have a lot to be thankfull for though and we must focus on that. Rick | |
