Subject: SeedBox Treatment for Wheat-Do you use it?

Panhandle of Texas

We used to have our wheat "cleaned and double-treated".  I think the "double treatment" was simply two different kinds of chemical.  That process has gotten SO expensive, though, now we take our wheat to our local elevator and simply have it cleaned.

I have always used a seed-box treatment.  I used Lindane for a long time...Haven't they banned that stuff?  To be honest, I do not even know the active ingredient in the stuff we use now.  I believe it's called "Grain Guard", or something like that.  Some guys around here do not use anything at all; and as far as I know, have gotten along just fine..??

I was wondering what everyone does for seed treatment, especially those of you that use the in-box powder..

Don't you just love that green powder?  Sure makes your throat feel nice and dry if you get a whiff of it! SurprisedYUK!Surprised
