west central Iowa | The little bit of mold on silage won't bother. Be sure to feed consistant amount of silage crust each day, that way you don't put too much on any one load. Try running a couple different energy rations according to cold temp requirements. It also makes a difference what age cows you are feeding. I feed corn silage, ground brome hay, and .5# 40-20 protein the last trimester. Cows on stalks also. An open winter sure doesn't hurt my feelings!
