New Mexico
things from operating capacity stand points.

Weekly tonnage has been running 2 to 5% below 010.

It's pretty easy to operate a feedlot, or stocker, or cow calf deal at much less than 100% capacity.

On big volume packing plants though, it's tough to impossible to operate at say 75% capacity.

On smaller volume plants it's relatively easy to reduce capacity and keep harvesting.
( basically one can broaden the backend ie value added end to fill the work gap on front end incoming ).

There are a few new cattle harvest plants opening in the usa now thru spring.
Capacities of the new niche plants run generally 800 head per day on up to 2,400 head per day.
Might not seem like much, but new total harvest capacity usa is expanding by approx 5,500 head per day this winter.

It all adds up. More is always more.
