Be careful selling at 900lbs as that is a tough time to move them. I used to raise bucket calves and sell at 500 lbs also and got out due to back pboblems. I have bought like you are suggesting at 300 and sold at 700 to 900 and rarely made money. Maybe timing in the cattle cycle was off but seemed to me buying the 3 weights costs to much as everyone likes that size and price gets to high. The only way to make money on the cattle is buy them at the right price as you know what the rest of the costs are, and it is hard to get 300lb calves bought right to be able to sell by 900 and make money. Just my 2 cents, good luck.
