| Used to raise holstein steers from bucket to 500lbs. and then sold them. I got out of it for a few years due to other conflicts but would like to get back in only I would like to buy at about 300-400lbs and sell when they get 800-900 lbs. I would like to stay with Holsteins and then down the road go to coloreds. Looking too for anybody that would know who to contact. Have a couple places in mind but trying to think everything out before making decisions. I dont have a whole lot of corn and by selling them before they get 1000lbs or better, i could sell before they really start eating. Anyway, trying to get some costs down and a budget made. I have the corn and facilities but would need to buy the hay and supplememnts and distillers. So my questions are how much corn, distillers, hay, and supplements it would take to get them from 400-900lbs. I would like to feed silage but do not have access to that. Last thing, what is distillers running in ne ia? Thanks for any responses | |
