North Central Iowa | Most holsteins will start scouring between day 7 and 10. We give them on egg mixed with milk and treat with baytril. then the next four feeding give them electrolites and treat with Baytril daily. Then go back to milk. Ususally that cleans them up. THe egg doesnt cure the scours but it will constipate them for about twenyt four hours thus preventing further dehydration until the antibiotics to work. The vet laughted the first time I told him about it but after he saw it worked he now recommends it to others. | |
