Subject: Dogs chasing newly weaned calves

Riley County Kansas
Weaned calves on Friday and Saturday and started on feed. Fed the calves Sunday morning and everything was fine went to feed the calves this morning and about 5 head out of 111 were still in the pen. Gates were broken from their hinges and cattle panels surrounding the pen were all flattened. Thank God the calves just went out to the cover crop where the mamas were grazing so we re-weaned this morning. Tonight 9:00 same frickin story. Anybody else had trouble with the neighbors dogs chasing cattle thru fences and raising all sorts of hell? Also what did you do to remedy the problem? I'm livid pissed right now just don't want to make enemies out of neighbors by shooting their dog. We are calling the neighbors to let them know the problem and we will wait around the pen tomorrow night and if anything shows up it's fair game.
