Subject: feed bunks "railing"?

South Central Kansas, Harper County
Still working on our corrals, poured some concrete for cattle apron last week, and laid down some geotextile mat today, plus one load of rock. Will have a couple more loads of rock tomorrow. When all is completed we will set the concrete bunks, then be ready to weld our cross pipe on bunks(didnt want to use cable). With this in mind, how far up from bottom of bunk should this pipe be placed? Also, am intending to have the pipe extended over the center of the bunk a ways. Any idea how long the arm should be that holds the cross pipe out from the upright pipe post should be?
thanks,
Jim
