Subject: Feeder Lambs

NW Iowa-Lyon
I just brought in a hundred head of feeder lambs weighing a avg. of 84lbs. I am just looking for some advice and what else I should do to make the transition for them a lot easier and keep from losing any. I gave all the lambs a CD&T shot last night and also gave them a wormer. Along with this I am giving the lambs Corid 9.6% in the water along with some electrolytes. For the first 2-3 days I am just going to feed them alfalfa hay. I am going to slow work them up on a high feed ration containing oats, shell corn, liquid molasses, and a protein containing Lasalocid. the ration is setup to contain 12% protein. Going through and giving shots and worming last night the lambs all looked healthy and had good hooves. Is there anything else I should do or is there anyother recommendations that I should do. I am new at the whole sheep industry and just wanting to learn as much as I can and wanting to do the right things to keep my death loss down.
