I am thinking of weaning some calves (350-450#) and feeding them out and selling them after the 1st of the year. I have plenty of corn, thinking of grinding 60% corn and 40% alfalfa with a little mineral salt. Will also set out some dry hay for them to eat. Will this ration work? What gains could I expect per day? How many pounds per day will each calf consume? TIA......
