I don't know about nitrate but one could test to answer your questions. By all means limit feed say strips so the cattle don't just graze the ears and leave stalks. Also the working the soil and planting something say rye or whatever also get plenty of vol. corn grow that would be excellent pasture also. Again strip to get max. value. I believe this early I would work the ground if had the time and equipment. Ben
