You might try bentinite (pretty sure this isn't spelled right) we get ours at a feed store. We used in leaky tire tanks, old ponds ect. with moderate success. It is a dry granular product. You place it as near the leaking area as possible. It is supposed to be carried to the leak by the water and then plug the hole. Did your contractor forget the anti-seep collars?
