East Central Ia | I seem to remember Elwynn Taylor of Iowa State talking about this a few years ago. If I remember right he said the significant droughts that effect a wide area of the corn belt come up from the southeast. I really can't remember any details but he was very interesting to listen to. He also said that there is a pretty clear line in the middle of Iowa right about I-35 very weather effects tend to change. East of I-35 comes up from the SE and west of I-35 comes from the W or SW.

I have family in the Atlanta region and they are VERY dry... not sure how widespread it is but this has me a little worried. | |
