Thompsontown, Pennsylvania | RUN....i bought a keenan 80 when i started milking 2 years ago this may....thing has been my albatross.....was told it would process big square bale baleage (a couple slabs at a time) and dry hay and it does.....but i have to mix for a rediculous long time and add water to get a mix the cows can't sort and actually get decent milk production and components and has gone through $500 worth of sprockets and chain ...and it never has been the best mixer to load....they say alternate front to back but i load everything dead center and hope it spreads evenly in the chamber. If you want a reel type mixer look at a Knight reel augie or a rota-mix...otherwise go vertical (someday when i can afford there WILL be a vertical at my farm) |
