Mt. Airy, NC | Bought one new in 2000 and used it 6 years. It is an ok mixer but did have its issues. It will not handle a whole bale of hay had to add it 100# at a time but it did a nice job processing the hay. Since there are not horizontal augers front to back mixing was a problem. The biggest problem we had was with the chamber door. The way it closes it wedges feed into the track and after a few weeks the door fails to seal off. Doesn't sound bad but the unloading auger turns while mixing and when the door stops closing all the way you end up running grain out in the silo while loading silage. Keenan recommends adding dry ingredients first half in the front and half in the back. So as soon as you start mixing in the silo grain is spitting out the chute until you get enough silage in. Wore out the tub in about 5 years and replaced it then used it one more year and bought a vertical so we could grind whole bales for dry cow and heifer rations. Email me with anymore questions you might have.
