Subject: RE: light bulbs in hog building

NE Indiana
The CFLs are not made to go into an enclosed fixture. The heat that they do make heats up the electronic ballasts inside of them and greatly affects their life span. I worked in electrical for 4 years and never found a good thing to use in our hog building. I never spent the money to try LED though. We use CFLs that have a 1 year guarentee on them. If I don't get a year out of them, I take them in and they swap them out for me. Read the guarentee on them closely though because they don't all mean the same thing.
