I liked you spring cattle watering example.
Reminds me of a deal in California, a friend relayed.
To save a lizard the restricted the number of cattle on some government land. Then the lizard numbers really fell off. So they excluded cattle completely. The lizards just about disappeared.
Turns out the only thing these lizards ate were dung beetles, and with no cow dung no beetles.

For the Elite Cattle Barons * ** spanish goats have always paid better than cattle. As long as no one took notice and got greedy it will stay that way.

Goats with our management they will turn a pasture into a dust bowl. They are best for getting rid of poison ivy.
