Jim, do you ever have trouble with cows swishing their tails when standing next to your fence and bumping your hot wire and the wire getting hooked on the barb and shorting the fence out? Grandpa had lots of old 4 strand barbed wire, how that kept cows in I don't know. I've ran a hot wire inside of it and the only problem I have is what I just described. It's just 14 gauge TSC electric fence wire, yellow connectors on most of the same posts the barbed wires are on. I check the fence to see if it's hot every day, and one good thing about this is I can usually find where it's shorted pretty quick because I know where to look.
