I always tag, castrate and dehorn at birth, or within 12-18 hours or I can't catch them. I have had a couple take off, but they usually came back. Might have to upgrade your perimeter fence to woven wire (maybe sheep grade).


Woven wire would do the trick, but it's so much more expensive than hi- tensile I felt I couldn't justify it.
