Subject: Re: Tortillas

West Texas

4 C flour 1 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder ½ cup lard Mix all ingredients together in a bowl with your hands. *Add warm water a little bit at a time (slowly) until the flour mixture is doughy. *Then knead it together really good into a ball. *Put your bowl over the ball and let it rest for about 2 mins. * Make ball into about 2 inch balls and line them up. *You can start with the first ball you rolled out and use a rolling pin to start making your tortilla. * Cook on an iron skillet (non-greased). *Lightly brown on each side and put in a holder or towel to keep warm. Yields:15-20
