| It is a red Gelbvieh bull that we have had for quite a few seasons and the cows are black(SM/Blk AN). They are from a commercial herd that we bought out, so we don't know the exact breeding on them - many must be homozygous as we have gotten very few red calves. Our own herd is primarily GV, so we are trying to breed them to AN/SM bulls and our black cows we are breeding to GV bulls. Our goal is to have a herd of red and black cows that are 1/2GV, 1/4AN 1/4SM. We are finding the SM/AN/GV to be a very good combination. We have had some really good Balancers too, but they are harder to find. | |
