SWIA | I attended Iowa Pork Expo in Des Moines the other day. There were many booths wanting to sell pit treatments to help with crusting, flies, oder and make better fertilizer. What are you experiences with these products? Do they work as claimed? I manage a 2400 hd wean to finish tunnel barn. I think the air quality could be better, inside the barn during the winter and overall oder of the farm year round could be better. What about the fertilizer value of the manure? Do pit treatments make manure better fertilizer? Looks like it would cost $700 to $1500 to treat a 2400 hd barn. | |
