The calf is included in the $1/day figure up until it is weaned and put in a separate lot. Then it starts a new dollar amount/day you guys agree on.

Depending on the amount of labor you can do or even the amount the neighbor needs, you might be able to do something like a 50/50 deal on the calves. Meaning you own the cows 100%, the calves would be 50/50 up until they are sold. The 50/50 percentage can vary depending on the amount of labor you can do so maybe along the lines of a 60/40 or 75/25 split. You being the lower percentage of course.
