NEMO | Just sold a group of calves at the sale barn today for the most money that I have ever recieved. One group of 686# steers at $1.2750 for a total of $874.65 a head. One group of heifers, 604# at $1.27 for $767.08/head, another 693# @ $1.165 for $807.34/hd. I just can't believe how good the feeder calf market is. From what I could tell the steers might have been off a little from last week but heifers were right in there. Last weeks sale had 4300 vs. this weeks 1000-1500(didn't here the final) so not as many buyers today.
With $6+ corn and $14 beans and a lot of ground coming out of grass and into row-crops, we need the high cattle prices to be able to compete! | |
