Chippewa County, MN
You're right Cotton Picker. Singers like Charley Pride, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, etc could sing from the heart because their songs were about real life experiences. Many of us could relate to those songs because we lived them. "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly, "Coal Miners Daughter" by Loretta just to name a couple. When Charley sings about picking cotton or milking the cows, he knows of what he sings. Folks today don't know hard times. If they lose their cell phone or can't get on the internet, those are hard times!
