Subject: Driving to North Carolina

Northwest IL
We are leaving this weekend for a cousin's wedding in Durham North Carolina. It takes us about two hours to get to Bloomington, IL so from there mapquest takes 74 east to Indy then 65 south to Louisville then east on 64 to Charleston, WV 77 south then 74 east and then a few other roads and 40 east into Durham. I have gone to Louisville before but from there east everything will be new to me. This will be a two day trip, it looks like after Charleston, WV there is no place to stop correct? How is the drive thru the mountains, lots of curves or is it pretty straight? Is there a better route to take? Weather looks good for the week we will leave Thursday shouldn't be any bad roads? Any recommendations on where to stop somewhere close to Charleston, WV within an hour of there or less?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance for all the replies, busy day tomorrow but I will try to comment or ask more questions tomorrow night!
