| I was just thinking aboit how it was years ago. Before livestock pickup trailers were around. We had several people that owned there own trucks am trailers that hauled for others.. Straight trailers an trucks. Several off them made a living hauling livestock an grain. Off course back in the fifties an 60s every farm had cattle an hogs an there were lots off those small operations. Hauled the livestock to Omaha mostly. They handled thousands off head off cattle an hogs several days a week. Truckers were hauling about every day. A good friend off ours had three trucks an straight trailers hauling grain, gravel an livestock all the time. Hired two other drivers at all times. He also was bonded to buy grain from the farmer an when he did that got the hauling as well. He paid for his trucks an drivers an made a pretty god living for himself. Off course now we have all the livestock concentrated in a few hands an they have there own trucks so not a feasible business any more.
