Subject: RE: triplets in sheep

We pull off one of the male lambs as soon as he has sucked enough colostrum and he goes into the bottle lamb pen.  The reason we take a male is that we keep our better triplet females for replacements and and they do better on the mother.

After the lambs get to be 10 days old the bottle lambs get moved out of their pen and go into the creep area with all the other lambs.  They just drink off of their bucket and run with the other lambs.

Our experience has been that leaving 3 on a ewe results in 3 poor lambs
