I have no knowledge of what the chemical makeup is on their plastic.  That said, the yellow isn't seeming to present a problem, so it may be simply an unfortunate matter of the company colors (red in particular) not being compatable with the effects of UV radiation. 

Look at the red paint on any equipment that sits out in the sun.  Red simply doesn't handle UV rays well.

Dunno, maybe the new red tops are better.
