Subject: RE: baling stalks

Farmington IL
There were a couple of guys around here that had deere 535's with the flail chopper attachment. The idea was to just go out and in one pass chop and bale. These guys were doing lots of custom baling and it was pretty slow just taking 2 rows back and forth. The other thing is running a batwing and raking will help dry out the stalks if you are dealing with some wetter conditions. As I recall they worked fine, just had some limitations. I did see one on a auction this winter and it was a aftermarket unit and it looked like a pain to put on and off.
