I'm just taking issue with the idea that "margarine is plastic", as some have alluded to; and that margarine is not a food, and is not made from farm products.  I am hearing a perception in this thread that if you don't eat butter, then you are not supporting a farmer.  Not true.

As for preference of margarine or butter.......  hey, it's a preference. Who are we to judge?
