Subject: RE: Creep feeding lambs

We start them on creed as soon as they come out of the lambing jugs, 3 days of age.  The lambs get mostly pellets with a little corn mixed in to start out.  My wife is in charge of this, so I'm not sure of the exact rations, but the corn increases and pellets decrease over time.  Lambs get all they want and NEVER run out.  We fill troughs early on and use a combination of troughs and modified pig feeders when they get older.  Troughs are filled twice a day to keep feed fresh and it seems to encourage the lambs to eat more.  Our pellets are custom made for us and delivered 7 ton at a time.

Feed lambs fat.  Right now, the bigger the better.  Market wants 145 lbs now and heavier.  Might as well give them what they want.
