| Hey guys,
Looking for help, I am wanting to start feeding some cows here in central IL. I grew up on a corn/soybean farm, we dont farm anymore, but have a few acres of flat pasture behind the tool shed. I have been asking around, I was going to start in the spring with a few head for the pasture, then possibly just sell them in fall, limit my risk and workload during next winter. Kind of start as a hobby, and maybe build up from there. Am I completely out of my mind?
I'm looking for some good numbers on type, weight, age of the cattle to buy, as well as associated costs, fencing, shelter, supplemental feed. Any help would be much appreciated! | |
