Chris, check out this website . They sell antennas and cables with different adapters to fit your router. Here is a Cross-Reference which matches router to connector type. Most routers should have a removable antenna where you can hook up a cable to an outdoor antenna. I have a Linksys Wrt54GS router with an outdoor omni antenna hooked up to it going to another location 500 feet away. Seems to work for me.

Here is a copy of my order for my setup. The omni antenna goes with a Linksys WRT54GS router and the patch antenna goes with a Linksys WAP54G access point. You can order different lenghts cable. Everything fit together perfectly.
