ECIL | I've never watched Judge Judy but know what you are talking about. I had to sit in a court room recently and saw some lady get tagged for nonpayment of rent. When she was in front of the judge she wanted to know where the plaintiff was. The plaintiff wasn't there but had a lawyer representing her. This lady then asked who the guy was up with her in front of the judge. The judge said "He is the lawyer." Defendant then asked "Where is he?" Judge said "He is standing with you." Defendant: "He isn't with me. Why is he standing next to me?" Judge: "He isn't with you, he is next to you." Defendant: "He shouldn't be up here next to me. Where is (the plaintiff)?" Judge: "He is representing her. One more remark from you and you will be under arrest." The defendent had a smart-mouthed tone and the judge was getting very testy about it. After the exchange the defendent looked toward everyone with a smart smirk on her face. I wanted her to say something just to see here get cuffed. She would have deserved it. | |
