Subject: Re: coffee makers

Tough to beat a Bunn in my opinion. We used to buy the cheap ones. Had a Black and Decker for a few years that actually made good coffee. It died and we bought a few cheap ones over the years, but I never liked the coffee. Finally bought a Bunn last spring and it really makes good coffee - very smooth, not bitter at all. The key is water temp and speed. Regular percolating coffee makers take too long to get the water through the grounds and they start to give off a bitter flavor. A Bunn will brew a pot in 3 min flat.

If you don't mind farting around for a really good cup of coffee, try one of these. You can make enough espresso to dilute into regular strength coffee to make about 3 - 4 large cups from a single press. Takes some time getting it all set up and cleaning it up afterward, but you will never taste a better coffee than you get from it. Also uses a lot of grounds for the amount of coffee you end up with.
