I think it is going to depend on the cook and how much baking you do. I believe restaurants and pro's use convection ovens because the cook faster than a regular over.
My wife is not one to use new gadgets and seldom ever uses the microwave except to warm up some left overs. I cook a few things, but not many. I would go with the a relatively plain microwave if it were me.
