Subject: Re: cow kill prices

northwest tennessee
If I were going to take them through the winter and let them calf I would just let the calf nurse until about july or so. Kill prices normally peak in July or August but they are not bad now either. They have held up well this year but my gut is telling me prices are going to be higher come spring. I could be wrong. Cows that big will go to the killers because they will pound out so much. I would not sell them with a calf as big as they will have in them in March and they will not bring as much for killers if they are showing heavy.
