New Mexico | cold you get this winter ( alot of ambient cold below 0 degrees requires some energy in the ration ).
I'd use 4 lbs of ddgs daily too. ( that makes sure the protien is there, adds fat thus energy, gives you an easy extra 1 lb per head per day growing edge etc ).
Lick tanks and hay in general will work, just slower gains vs the afore.
Depends some on the lick ( Mix 30 would be good ) ie protien %,fat, etc, and depends some on % alfalfa in your hay mix.
