Subject: My feed bales tested high in nitrate..........now what?

Southeast Colorado
We usually only use about 10% of what we grow and sell the rest. This year was a really good growing season and we had great production. Everything went right putting up these forage sorghum round bales. No rain and really pretty green good dry feed. I've been growing feed now for at least ten years and have built a good relationship with my clients. The last few years we have started testing for protein and nitrates as the end users have become more knowledgable. We've never had problems but this year all of the sudden we have ended up with 400-500 ton of extremely high nitrate bales. We also have similar amounts of low as well as medium nitrate feed as well. I will not have trouble selling the low and medium hay but what the heck do I do with the high nitrate stuff? It is the prettiest green cane feed you could buy and now is it just worthless? Thanks for any ideas.
