EC North Dakota | I am a UND grad and proud of it. The whole name change issue is driven by political correctness in my opinion.
Both tribes have supported the use of the name, however the few have control over the governing boards and would not approve any resolution to support continued use of the name.
My biggest beef is with the NCAA being able to force, through the withholding of eligibility for post season play, ie $$$$, a school to change it's logo and name.
Up here loyal UND fans are gobbling up all items that have the sioux logo on them.
Don't mean to sound off against the tribes, don't mean to offend anyones opinion on the issue, I just see it as another example of the few imposing their will on the many,. | |
