I would suggest soil test now,esp check ph. If it needs lime spread that now. I would spread fertilizer in the early spring then drill in a locally adapted pasture seed mix (see your feed store) plus some persistent red clover in the small seed b ox of the drill. I have had zero luck with "frost" seeding and as expensive as good seed and fertilizer is and as valuable as the new grazing will be in july or august do it right with a notill drill into the existing sod in early spring.
