Subject: RE: Most breeds have a CED say

New Mexico
Calfing Ease Direct , also there are various connotations for CEM / CETM etc., ie Calfing Ease Maternal epds etc.

Some breeds do rate GL ( gestation length ) measured in days thus lower number is shorter length.

On your deal...your trying to create STAYABILITY ( get daughters going and keep em in the herd ), there are stayability epds for most breeds.

perhaps try this link

11 page deal....pg 6 and 7 get into cow making epds.

On Angus based cattle,
keep in mind that the $EN epd is a decent maternal indicator....more $ saved on feed generally means longer lifed more moderate cows etc.

On Simmy cattle go to SimTalk which is the Simmy magazine put out by the Simmental Association at Bozeman MT.....pretty good monthly cattle magazine ( monthly epd data on bulls there )...get in touch with em and they'll send it to you since your a bull buyer.
