plenty early in the tech stage for said to be considered as a reliable indicator of traits.

I tend to think the accuracy values are currently somewhat misleading, and will continue to be ( at least for the forseeable future ).

DNA=gentic potential, NOT actual performance.

Holstien / dairy folks have been using this stuff long enough now that those accuracy readings should be fairly high due to the fact most cattle ( dna types ) have been recognized ( tested over years ) thus have some hard actual performance production type numbers too.

Since epd's have been around a while, and if your a "numbers" type cattle person just seems like that's the indicators to use.

In general, beef bull's so far tested ( dna expected performance ) profile is fairly synonomous / harmonious to their epd profiles.

On long term fertility issues....and if you've been saving hiefers, and if your black cattle focused, the smartest money spent is to dna your bull battery and make sure you are not still using "NH" carrier bulls.

On selecting for fertility by the numbers so to speak, ( rather than simply walking thru em and sorting, knowing your fertile cow lines over history etc ),,,,

perhaps simply go to shorter Gestation Lengths on your bull's epds.
Shorter gestation cattle are ALWAYS more fertile.

combine the afore with good Calfing Ease Daughters ( CED epd ) numbers and your improving fertility over time.
