| My dad still does. He has a two row wide New Idea picker. We used to have a two row wide mounted on a JD 60. We used to do almost 5000 bushels of ear corn. We would grind it up with alfalfa and put it in the creep feeder. A neighbor also did about 1000 bushels this year.
Personally, I don't see a point in doing it. You could make some good money selling it to city people for their squirrell feeders and for hunter's deer corn. You could also make good money selling straw hay. I am too old now (25) to shovel corn into a grinder mixer, and would rather fill my mixer with shelled corn. | |
