I'm going to shoot from the hip here, I don't really have the records to back this up. I would say when you mate a FS 5 cow to a FS 7 bull (or vice versa) about 1/3 of the calves will be FS 5 1/3 FS 7 and the rest some where in the middle. That makes it harder and take longer to get where you want to be.
I would agree the smaller frame cattle would finish better at 14 months.
